happen (v.)發生，碰巧
* A sad thing just happened.
* It happened that I was in a meeting that day.
(I happened to be in a meeting that day.)

what happened? (指有明確時間及對象/前後文有指出明確時間及對象)
* The thing just happened when I was there.
* What happened on Friday night when you got laid off?

what’s (has) happened? (指沒有明確時間及對象)
* Let’s ask Anna what’s happened.
* You know what has happened.

what did happen? (錯誤的句子)
* Who did you call?
* Who called you?

S1+S2 (What has happened) (子句連接)
* Let’s return home as if nothing has happened. (as if 似乎好像，後面引導假設或比喻子句)
